Judith Alder is a founder member of Blue Monkey Studio.
She has exhibited her work in the UK and America and has taken part in and organised a wide range of independent projects, both as exhibitor, curator and as artist in residence. Judith has worked with arts organisations, commercial and non-commercial galleries, universities, schools, on an allotment, and most recently with a military museum. In 2006, Judith Alder was one of eleven development award winners around South East England who received Art Plus Awards to develop ideas for innovative public artworks*.
In recent years Judith has organised professional development and networking events for artists, and was a Director and co-organiser of Eastbourne Festival 2009, a two week long programme of arts, literature and entertainment.
Her latest projects for 2009 have included co-curating and co-organising an exhibition entitled CIRCUMNAVIGATION involving 12 artists at Eastbourne’s Redoubt Fortress and Military Museum, and a commission to make an intervention, Micro-Mapping Towner, at the new Towner gallery in Eastbourne.
Judith's work is held in collections including those of West Dean College, Canterbury Christchurch University and Eastbourne College.
