For six weeks in 2005 the gallery at Phoenix Arts in Brighton was transformed into an interactive studio environment, where visitors had a unique opportunity to observe three artists at work - Judith Alder, Greg Daville and Arkem.
During the residency, visitors were able to follow the journey through the creative processes involved from the initiation of a brand new project. Judith began by gathering a large amount of factual and visual research on the theme of Wayfinding. Over the course of the residency new experimental work developed in the gallery, culminating in The South Gallery Expedition, the first ever micromapping piece from which others later developed.
